Family Time, New Discoveries

We spent the fourth down south at Josh's family's home. It was good, except we had a few cliche moments where Josh and I were like, "He's not usually like this." or "He's different at home." How many times have you heard that before? But it was totally true. He was a little out of his comfort zone, so misters was letting us know about it. I was so preoccupied with trying to maintain our boy, that we didn't even get any pictures. And I brought the camera and camcorder. Made sure I packed them. A little irritated about that. But, the weekend was fun, long too. Josh and I are such oldies, we go to bed early. And by the time we made it home, we took a three hour nap with the boy. Had to catch up on sleep. lol Gabriel also learned a new trick. He can now successfully navigate and climb onto furniture, chairs, etc. Awesome. A whole new area of baby proofing at our place. There was a chair separating him from the outside and he just tackled it like nothing. And then hung his head out and I was like, "Great thing to learn now." Gabe wasn't a fan of the fireworks. A little too much excitement for him. Luckily, the lady we purchased from gave us some glow sticks and he just about glued them on. He refused to let go of the one I gave him that night.

We visited with his dad and wife, the girls were gone for most the weekend. But we seen them before we left Sunday night and Monday morning. Josh also got to visit with his mom again, and saw his aunt and Great Grandpa. Some of the fourth we were able to hang out with his older sister and her boy. Overall it was a good trip. We were glad we were able to see so many of them. I know Josh expressed wanting to visit more often, and scolded himself a little for not. I think we should, not just to see family, but so that misters can actually act "normal" and not uncomfortable around a new place, new people. Would be nice for family to see that we don't have a terror for a child, although sometimes I wonder. lol
