Lost in Translation

Gabriel is now 2 and a half years old. He is such a big man. And with his new found independence, he is talking up a storm as well. Problem is, he's still a little unclear with some of his letters. For instance, his "dump truck" has no "p" and the "tr" is replaced with "f"... ahh hem. So, he says "Dumb F***" instead. Nice. And he loves trucks, so that one comes out more than I would like to admit. I also noticed this morning what "Chocolate" sounds like. The first part sounds like his version of "truck" and "ate" sounds like "it". So, yeah, he's saying "F*** It" for "chocolate". I know that our boy is not the only one who makes these mistakes, as Youtube is full of videos submitted by parents who apparently get a good laugh at their child's innocent pronunciations. Until clear speech is a part of our son's life, looks like daddy and I have our hands full.

Celebrating Life

Josh and I will be going to Western Washington the weekend of the 17th, to visit friends and family. That Saturday, we will be celebrating the life of an amazing man, my Uncle Pat. I know that he is with his brother but we will miss him here. Until we see each other again, We love you Uncle Pat!

Homemade Baby Food

I just finished three hours of making homemade baby food. I think it would have only taken a little over an hour and a half had I not steamed my fruit before peeling (that was a mess). :) Regardless, Gavin now has a large variety of baby food. And I must say it's pretty tasty. No, no, no... I'm not eating baby food. But one of them was just like applesauce, but with pears, raisins and cinnamon too. I think I get a pass for testing that one. I didn't partake in the Sweet Potato, Carrots and Broccoli Puree. Hey, gotta save some for the kiddo. :)
